The first step in the project process after getting in contact with our customer is to plan an onsite meeting with a representative from Long Custom Building to discuss the potential project. During this meeting it is important for the owners of the property to convey what they wish to achieve with the project and provide inspiration pictures or design ideas. The Long Custom Building representative will takes notes, measurements, pictures, and begin discussing a probable budget range based on previously completed work. Once the owners are feeling comfortable with moving forward, our team will work on a customized budget for their project. This process may take a couple days or even a couple of weeks depending on the size and scope of the potential project to ensure we build a strong relationship with our customer.
Once a budget has been established that the owners are comfortable with, a follow up in-person meeting will be scheduled where the scope summary and budget is presented to owners and thoroughly explained. It is at this time where the owners decide whether or not they would like to move forward with the project or not with Long Custom Building. This discussion would conclude with a final qualifying budget conversation and a contractual agreement. If the owners agree with the budget and contract, then our team will create a job specific, individualized contract for their project. Afterward, all parties involved will review and sign in addition to the owners providing a 10% deposit to secured their job placement in our team's schedule.
For most projects, the start date is based on the selection, purchase and delivery of the materials the owners and the Long Custom Building team has decided on for the job. For example, for kitchen projects, owners will meet with our full-service design team for details such as cabinets, countertops, plumbing, lighting fixtures, etc. This process is essential to each project and holds vast importance to the owner's satisfaction. Because of this, we ask that owners take the time with the different vendors that make up our full-service team. Depending on the capacity of the project, owners will have to make decisions on each detail of their project to ensure satisfaction. This step in our customer's project should not cause any stress due to the knowledgeable team we have built for the purpose of helping customers in the design/selection process. If our customer has a vision, we will use our expertise to deliver!
Once all of the materials are all onsite and staged, then the job can start! Changes in the original job schedule are inevitable, but we ensure our customers are always the first to know if the timeline of their project has shifted. Communication from start to finish is the key to completing a successful, fulfilling project. Our team at Long Custom Building includes experts in every realm needed to provide the highest quality of work for our customers. There are many professionals on our team who take great pride in their work who our customers will encounter throughout the course of their project. We take pride in communicating our schedule and setting realistic expectations so that our customers are never surprised by the activity levels during their project. Long Custom Building will always communicate with customers throughout the project to make sure everyone is comfortable and at ease with the process.
We stand by a "White Glove" treatment for our projects, which entails a tidy job site, high quality craftsmanship, and precise project delivery. Although our customer's project space remains clean throughout the entirety of the process, we provide a cleaning service before any job is considered complete. Once the job is nearing completion, we will schedule a meeting on site between the Long Custom Building Superintendent and the homeowner to discuss and list any items not achieved to their satisfaction, if any. Once the job is agreed to be entirely complete to the customer's liking with the upmost levels of quality and expertise, we will conclude! Following the completion of the project, Long Custom Building appreciates continuing a professional relationship with each customer. Subsequently, if there is an opportunity, we encourage customers to have our marketing team come on-site to document the process and final product!
As we note throughout each project, communication and a strong customer relationship is essential for any successful project. Long Custom Building wants each customer to feel valued and know their project is well-respected. Because of this, we offer a concierge service at no additional cost to rectify any issues that may have arisen after their project concludes. This is available for up to one year after project completion. If a customer calls following their project completion for something minimal or substantial, our team will make time to take care of the mistake or damage. Each of our customers deserve to feel 100% satisfied with the project we complete for them!
